Overview
The Interactive Maps on Tribal Communities and PVTGs residing in Odisha is a step forward on the traditional map. Installed at the Odisha State Tribal Museum, these two map are large format display which runs an interactive application to inform visitors about the diverse tribal communities of Odisha. Developed as a web application, each of these stand alone Interactive Maps provides comprehensive information on the Tribal Communities and PVTGs of Odisha respectively.
The maps features details such as socio-cultural aspects, language, region, occupations, religion, and festivals and also include demographic data like population, growth rate, literacy, sex ratio, marital status, working population, and more. This information is presented through interactive maps, charts, graphs, and text, allowing users to explore details of individual tribes or compare demographics of up to three tribes at a time. Details on the Scheduled Areas of Odisha, established Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) areas, Integrated Tribal Development Agencies (ITDAs), Microprojects, and Modified Area Development Approach (MADA) pockets, are also presented in tabular formats for easy reference.
